This still life combines numerous items that can remind one of the devil's traps and the wages of sin: a fishing net, dead wood, a horse's skull, a coiled rope, a string of blue beads.

Inspiration: After selling Grandmotherīs First Quilt, Marlene painted another. This time with a carousel horse that was in the new model home she and her husband bought, a Cabbage Patch doll she made for Gloria, a teddy bear and Evalyn doll and a toy horse carved by Philīs Grandfather Steinweg. All on a background of a quilt with the wedding ring pattern.
